Thank you, Bonnie. I have family and friends who have hearing issues, so I appreciate you sharing your experiences with tech. Older relatives who are less tech-savvy have struggled, but a Bluetooth connection has been a huge step forward. Now they hear every notification! Thanks for sharing your experiences.
Grateful to you @Victoria for reading and sharing! Technology is getting better and will give deaf and HoH people better access to hearing and communication.
Thank you for writing this, Bonnie - I learned so much and have new places of awareness after reading it. Also, what a beautiful conclusion full of universal wisdom. ❤️
Dearest BB, Devine, liminal, edge walking beauty, thank you for sharing all you are, you make us-all better versions of ourselves with your grace & deep knowing gifts, so honoured to know you. Xos
An important article Bonnie. Thank you! I feel the depth of your expressed pain and angst and, acknowledge you for both, your courage to share and extraordinary strength to show up in my and our world everyday. I will keep striving to be a more compassionate and considerate communicator. I have forwarded to a number of family and friends of shared loved ones also hard of hearing. Much love and gratitude.
Love this. I too only started being curious about my hearing disability in the last few years, despite being diagnosed almost 35 years ago! Working in a masked up hospital during COVID forced me too because I found suddenly that I couldn't hear anything. Really appreciate your reflections.
Grateful for your read and comments, Matt. Yes, it was tough during COVID! It did not feel right to ask people to take their masks off, but then I could not hear a single word to do my job. I ended up asking people to contact me via text, email or Teams. Good luck with your journey - feel free to reach out if you'd like a chat!
Bonnie, I think this is my favourite post of yours. Thank you for sharing more about your experience with being hard of hearing. I'm blown away by the gifts you have noticed even through the challenges. This topic is so important for people who don't experience hearing loss to be aware of; just because we can't see it, doesn't mean people don't struggle. Thank you for bringing awareness and sharing your experience so vulnerably.
Oh Kaitlyn, thank you! This means a lot to me. I would not be able to write this piece without your encouragement and support, especially around leaning into the Gemini energy through authentic communication! 💞
